Species that naturally occur in an area without human intervention. They originated and developed in their surrounding habitat and have adapted to living in that particular environment. Native is synonymous with indigenous.
Native or Indigenous species are extremely important because they cooperate with other native organisms and enhance natural biodiversity.
Native species could also be indigenous to other countries. For example, kamagong or mabolo is also native to Eastern and Southern Taiwan and Eastern Borneo. When a native species is found in a particular geographical region and nowhere else in the world, it is called endemic.
